About Preortho

Preortho is a functional device for pre-orthodontic treatment. Orthodontic treatment consists of 2 stages for orthodontics depending on the age group. This device can be used for preventive treatment on mixed dentition, and it is available to improve occlusion, chewing, nasal breathing, open mouth habit, speech impediment, and swallowing. In order to complete the effectiveness of orthodontic treatment, we recommend following the proper procedure from phase I orthodontic treatment with Preortho to phase II orthodontic treatment with a fixed appliance like braces.

Size Recommendation

Small size for patients with primary dentition,

Medium size for patients with mixed dentition,

Large size for patients with 7th teeth eruption.​

Since the Preortho patients are mostly kids, it is suggested to let them wear the soft type for 6-10 months to get used to the device, then change to hard type.

How to expand/adjust the Preortho

You may expand / adjust the Preortho using hot water if required.

Anti-open mouth tape

It is recommended to let the patient wear the Preortho around 1-2 hours during daytime, and wear the Preortho with anti open mouth tape during sleep for best results.
